Patty Yuen
Patty Yuen is the founder of Yuen Law Firm. Patty started her legal career in 1991, after finishing her study in Trade and Corporate Law in Leiden University. In 1992 she became the first female Chinese Attorney-At-Law in The Netherlands. She has been the legal advisor of different prominent Chinese organizations and companies in The Netherlands. She also wrote many publications and is a regular public speaker at different seminars and meetings regarding the practice of law. During her career, she has also gained expertise in Chinese Corporate Law at the Beijing University of Political Science and Law.
In the past few years Patty Yuen has successfully helped dozens of Chinese companies setting up their companies in The Netherlands and gaining a residence permit for the concerning directors, managers and their families. Patty Yuen has a widely international corporate related practice, specialized in Company Law, (International) Contract Law, Debt Collecting, litigation and Immigration Law.
Maria Meijers
Maria Meijers is the senior lawyer of Yuen Advocaten. She is specialized in Aliens and Nationality Law and assists clients in applying their residence permits.
In 1988, Maria Meijers graduated in Law from the Erasmus University Rotterdam. She started her career with the Dutch Parliament for 8 years, where she contributed to several legislative proposals in the fields of Aliens Law, Family Law and Criminal Law. Also, as al legal officer she was involved in influence policy making. Afterwards, Maria Meijers went to FORUM International, Institute for Multicultural Development, where she became the head of the legal department. Maria Meijers was active for FORUM as an expert on migrant law. She was a member of the editorial staff of ‘Migrantenrecht', the Dutch Legal Magazine bout Migration -, Aliens – and Nationality Law. She has written several articles for different magazines and has contributed to guidelines regarding Dutch Immigration Law. In 2005 Maria Meijers completed her training as a mediator.
